Resources and Kits Built for the CTE and WBL Classroom

Everything here was built by educators who've run these programs themselves, so you can spend your time with students instead of building slide decks and sign-up sheets.

Use them on their own, or pair them with CTEsoft to track outcomes and document funding automatically. Either way, the work gets done.

Career Exploration

Career Exploration Kits

Awareness Tools Tied to Every ICAP

Behind every employer door is a hallway of careers most students never knew were there. Each kit turns a single visit into a full arc of learning, not just a field trip, and every student leaves with a stamped Career Passport entry tied directly back to their ICAP.

1
PredictBefore the visit, students record what they already expect to find, so there's a real baseline to measure against.
2
ObserveA career panel, a hands-on simulation, and a personal "career lens" department each student tracks closely during the visit.
3
ConnectStudents map the full career ecosystem behind the visit, tracing how every department serves one shared mission.
4
DiscoverExpected vs. found: the gap between prediction and reality, where the real learning happens.
5
ReflectStructured reflection questions tie the visit directly back to the student's career cluster, pathway, and ICAP.
6
Career PassportA stamped Experience Record the student keeps, building a running portfolio of every industry they've explored.

Industry Project — Full 17-Cluster Library

One project. Seven pieces. Sixty documented hours.

A Code 05 Industry-Sponsored Project is one of the only work-based learning experiences a student can complete without a job, a car, or a placement slot that doesn't exist in their community. The employer brings a real, non-urgent problem. The student works it. The mentor meets them twice.

The barrier was never the idea, it's the paperwork: what the training plan says, what hours count, what gets retained, and what you're actually asking the employer to give. Every packet answers all four before you make the first call, and every hour log is built to sum to the 60-hour Sustain Fund threshold, because hours documented wrong the first time are dollars your district doesn't recover.

1
Training PlanThe scope of work, in language a district can put in front of a monitor.
2
Learning ObjectivesTagged to Colorado Essential Skills competencies.
3
Industry Mentor RoleExactly what the employer is giving. Bounded, and small enough to say yes to.
4
MilestonesA week-by-week arc, with mentor touchpoints placed where they belong.
5
Documentation RetainedThe artifacts the district keeps. The documentation leg of the monitoring trace.
6
Hour LogCategories that sum to the 60-hour Sustain threshold, plus reflection prompts written for the project.
7
Partner Outreach EmailThe ask, already written. Placeholders fill from the educator profile and the employer record.
